GET TO KNOW ME

I’ve been painting and drawing ever since I can remember. Some of my best moments are when I’m absorbed in the creative flow of artwork or deep in research or writing.

I studied Art History at University College London, sandwiched between studying art foundation and a post graduate course in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. I continued creative learning through studying printmaking at St Barnabas Printmaking Studio and most recently, pattern design through Bonnie Christine’s Immersion course.

Alongside my creative practice, I’ve forged a career in the Heritage sector as a museum professional and was Pilgrim Trust Curator at the David Parr House in Cambridge. My exploration of pattern design was inspired by the work of David Parr who ornately painted Arts and Crafts patterns on the walls of his Victorian home in Gwydir St, Cambridge.

The highlight of my Week is...

Drawing is Free

Drawing is Free is a project which makes the power of connecting through drawing available to everyone. The Monday portrait sessions are hosted free and online by Chloe Briggs and follow the format of 1 track of music, one pose, one drawing. It’s an amazingly beautiful, emotive and energising start to the week!  Every Monday, 9am and 6pm (Paris time).

Swimming

I start most days with a long swim in an outdoor pool. I swim all year round but especially love swimming in the winter, so I can swim through the darkness, into the sunrise and into a new day. Having swum in the same pool for twenty years it feels like home in amongst a community of fellow swimmers. In the summer I can be found in the river, amongst the dragonflies and ducklings.
